BATools.ai / Free AI Meeting Notes Tool
Turn Messy Meeting Notes Into a Clean Action-Item Summary
This is a free AI meeting notes tool for business analysts, and it's the real Claude Skill, not a watered-down demo. A 2-minute one-time install into Claude, then paste in raw notes or a transcript from your last workshop or stand-up: it returns decisions, owners, due dates, open questions, and the requirements implications most summaries miss.
Download the free skill ↓One markdown file, not an in-browser tool · works in Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or ChatGPT
What it does
Point it at raw notes and it returns a structured summary, the same shape a senior BA would send after a workshop. Not a generic bullet-point recap:
Purpose, date, attendees and apologies, in three lines.
Only decisions actually reached, with who made them and why.
Owner, due date, status. It never invents a name or date it wasn't given.
The part most summaries miss: statements in the meeting that quietly change scope.
Example
Illustrative input and output — not a real client session.
catch up w/ finance + ops. sarah said the invoice approval flow needs a 2nd sign-off over $10k, everyone nodded. tom to check with legal on the threshold by fri. still not sure if this applies to POs too - need to ask maria. also raised: current tool doesn't log who approved, that's a gap. priya to log a ticket.
DECISIONS MADE 1. Invoice approvals over $10k require a second sign-off — agreed by Finance & Ops ACTION ITEMS 1. Confirm sign-off threshold with Legal — Tom — Due: Fri 2. Log ticket for missing approver audit trail — Priya — Due: [DATE TO CONFIRM] OPEN QUESTIONS 1. Does the $10k threshold apply to POs as well as invoices? — Maria to confirm REQUIREMENTS IMPLICATIONS "current tool doesn't log who approved" — audit trail gap, may need a new requirement
How it works
Download the free .md file above.
Add it to Claude as a Skill (Settings → Capabilities → Skills), or paste it as a system prompt in ChatGPT/Cursor.
Paste your notes. Get the structured summary back.
Is the free Meeting Notes skill really free?
No card, no signup, no email required. It's the exact same file buyers of the full BA Skills Stack get, not a stripped-down version.
Do I need a Claude subscription to use it?
You'll need your own Claude account to run the skill, but there's no separate cost from BATools.ai for the free one.
Does it work in ChatGPT or Cursor instead of Claude?
It's a plain markdown file, so it works anywhere you can paste instructions ahead of a prompt: Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or ChatGPT.
If this one earns its keep, the other 23 will too.
Requirements, stakeholder analysis, user stories, UAT test cases and more: the full BA Skills Stack, one payment of $79.
